Pleased to meet you.
Cultured Grub is a website and blog for stories about food and culture.
About me: I am a writer, cultural anthropologist by training, and a former food editor. I'm interested in people and food—in a nutshell, who eats what and why: food stories, memories, histories, and politics.
When I'm not writing, eating or traveling, I bake for pleasure and catch up on my stacks of cookbooks. My favorite place anywhere in the world is the local farmers market. I can't get enough tacos, pickles, North African stews, fried chicken, and homemade pie. But the best meal is whatever you are making me for supper.
If you're interested in working together, sharing your work or a meal, please get in touch. I enjoy reviewing food-related books and interviewing interesting people for my blog and other publications. My current writing projects include stories about baking, chocolate, beer and what kids eat.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you'll enjoy what you find here.
